John Herring
Chairman/CEO
John Herring co-founded A-1 Roof Trusses in 1977. Beginning as a minor stockholder, he purchased controlling stock in 1986 and became the sole owner and operator. After selling the company in 2004, John retired for two years before taking over the business again in 2008. He serves as Chairman and CEO of A-1 Global Holdings, Inc., the parent company of A-1 Industries of Florida and A-1 Industries of Georgia, which was formed in December 2022. Previously was the President and CEO of A-1 Industries and has 46 years of experience in the Truss Manufacturing Industry.
Along with his title as Chairman and CEO of A-1 Global Holdings, Inc., Mr. Herring also serves as President of J.R. Herring Enterprises Inc., BetKor Properties, BetKor III, LLC, Jenack III, LLC, Whole House Engineering, LLC, and Integrated Performance Systems, LLC.
Mr. Herring received his Bachelors of Arts degree from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont, where he studied Political Science, Pre-Law, and Liberal Arts.
In, 1999 John was inducted into the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) Hall of Fame, and in 1983 was an integral part of the founding of the Association. John has also been a presenter for the Building Component Manufacturers Conference (BCMC) numerous times. Over his career, Mr. Herring has designed and built ten truss manufacturing facilities nationwide, including A-1’s state-of-the-art facilities in Fort Pierce, Florida, and Bainbridge, Georgia.
In addition to manufacturing, John has many interests in the aeronautical field. He is a Certified Private Pilot with experience in over 25 aircraft types. Mr. Herring serves as a Lifetime Board Member with the Wellington Boys & Girls Club. John resides in Wellington, FL, with his wife, Linda Herring.
